Service Description

Interlinear Reader is a language learning tool that helps users read texts in foreign languages by providing AI-generated sentence translations and word-level alignments. The service is designed to support comprehension, not replace human translation.

User Responsibilities

By using Interlinear Reader, you agree to:

  • Provide your own reading content — you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any books or texts you import
  • Use the service for personal, non-commercial language learning purposes
  • Not use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Not attempt to abuse, overload, or interfere with the service

API Usage and Rate Limits

Translation and alignment requests are processed through our servers and are subject to rate limits to ensure fair usage for all users. Excessive or automated requests may be throttled or blocked.

AI-Generated Content

Translations are generated by large language models (AI) and word alignments are produced by machine learning algorithms. While we strive for quality:

  • Translations are not guaranteed to be accurate and should not be relied upon for critical purposes
  • Word alignments are approximate and may contain errors
  • The service is intended as a learning aid, not a professional translation tool

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms of service, including but not limited to:

  • Abuse of the translation API or rate limits
  • Using the service for illegal purposes
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer or scrape the service

You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings.

Limitation of Liability

Interlinear Reader is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to inaccurate translations, data loss, or service interruptions.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
